An independent group of MPs and Lords, from all political parties,
apComms seeks to encourage debate on a range of communications issues,
bringing together relevant stakeholders including Government,
Parliamentarians, industry and consumer groups.
Lord Clark
Lord Clark of Windermere entered the House of Lords in 2001 having previously served as Labour MP for South Shields since 1979. Prior to this, he represented Colne Valley between 1970 and 1974. As a Member of Parliament, he held a variety of shadow Cabinet positions, including defence, environment, DEFRA and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster. Whilst Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, he was responsible for producing a White Paper on Freedom of Information, published in July 1998. Lord Clark is treasurer of the Communications Group as well as Chairman of the Forestry Commission and Vice-Chair of the National Parks Group.
