Ian Taylor has been Conservative MP for Esher and Walton since 1997 following boundary changes, having represented Esher since 1987 prior to this. Mr Taylor currently Vice-chairs a number of All-Party Parliamentary Groups, including the Corporate Responsibility Group, and is Secretary of the European Group.  He also sits on the Conservative Policy Taskforce on Science and Technology, which has recommended that science, technology, engineering and mathematics have a “single voice” in Whitehall to enable Britain to remain competitive. Mr Taylor has a keen interest in science and technology, having served as Minister for Science at the DTI between 1994 and 1997, and believes that these areas provide the key to Britain remaining economically competitive.  Married with two children, he serves on the board of several companies.
