An independent group of MPs and Lords, from all political parties,
apComms seeks to encourage debate on a range of communications issues,
bringing together relevant stakeholders including Government,
Parliamentarians, industry and consumer groups.
Dr Nick Palmer MP
Dr Nick Palmer is Labour MP for Broxtowe, having first been elected in Labour’s 1997 landslide victory. He has been PPS to Malcolm Wicks at the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform since 2005. A strong advocate of animal rights, he was vocal in his support of the fox-hunting ban and has also spoken on consumer issues, in particular the growing use of spam and spyware. He is a frequent contributor to the website politicalbetting.com and is Vice-chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for World Government. He has a PhD in Mathematics and prior to becoming an MP was a computer scientist with Swiss firm Ciba-Geigy, and later became head of Novartis Internet Service.
