8th December - BBC’S plans for the digital age
Dr Rupert Gavin, from BBC On-line spoke to members about the BBC’s plans for the future.
Over dinner MPs were able to have their questions answered concerning the convergence between broadcasting and the Internet.
9th November - Internet training for Parliamentarians
Cisco Systems provided personal training for members of the Group.
Using computers connected to the Internet, attendees had a chance to hone their surfing and emailing skills.
21st July - ISPA UK - Dinner in the Astor Suite
An opportunity to meet with leading players in the UK’s Internet
industry and to discuss key issues effecting them such as Internet
Service Provider liability for illegal content, e-commerce and the
Domain name debate (DNS).
ISPA UK represents 90% of the UK dial-up market.
23rd June - AOL
Jonathan Bulkeley, the then MD of AOL Bertlesmann UK gave a presentation to the group on the growth of the Internet.
