Charles Hendry MP
Having graduated from Edinburgh University with a Business Degree, Charles developed a career as a senior public relations consultant, before entering Parliament as MP for High Peak in 1997. Following the 1997 election, he became Chief of Staff to Rt Hon William Hague as Leader of the Opposition and then Head of Business Liaison for the Conservative Party. Charles became MP for Wealden in 2001. He has held a several Shadow Ministerial positions since that time, working as Shadow Minister for Young People (2002-05) and Shadow Minister for Higher Education (2005) and was Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party between 2003 and 2005. He has been Shadow Minister for Industry & Enterprise since the 2005 General Election. He became a Joint Vice Chairman of the All Party Internet Group in 2005.
